Marcus & Millichap Company and its subsidiaries offer the freedom to choose from a variety of health plans, including HMO, PPO or POS options from carriers such as Blue Shield of California and Kaiser.
Eligible dependents include spouse and unmarried dependent children under age 19 (to age 25 if attending school full-time).
Employees share in the cost of their medical plan through pre-tax payroll deduction of premiums. The level of employee cost varies by plan type and level of coverage selected. Employee premium costs are available by contacting the Employee Services Department.
All medical plans provide coverage for prescription medications with a small co-pay for a 30-day supply of generic medications and a slightly higher co-pay for brand name medications. Some options also offer a mail order program for recurring medications, which may provide considerable savings on maintenance drug costs.
The Aetna Freedom of Choice dental plan provides the opportunity to select from either a PPO or DMO style benefit plan. The plan allows participants to switch between the DMO and PPO monthly. Restrictions do apply regarding monthly plan changes.
This plan will help replace or supplement income in the event of a long-term injury or illness. In addition, this plan allows employees to buy an additional amount to ensure complete protection.
How the benefit works - if you are injured or sick and cannot work, this plan will pay 40 percent of your monthly earnings (to a maximum of $5,000 per month). Since most of us cannot sustain our standard of living on 40 percent of our earnings, you have the opportunity to purchase an additional 20 percent (to a maximum of $10,000 per month).

In the event of death for any reason, our life insurance coverage pays benefits to employee beneficiaries in an amount equal to the annual base salary (up to $200,000). This protection is provided by the Company, at no cost to employees, and is insured through Jefferson Pilot Financial.
AD&D insurance pays benefits equal to the annual base salary (up to $200,000) if an employee suffers death or serious injury due to a covered accident. This coverage applies only if the injury or death is the result of an accident, and is in addition to the regular employee life insurance. This additional protection is also provided by the Company at no cost to the employee.
Employees have the opportunity to purchase additional life insurance through a supplemental life plan through Jefferson Pilot Financial. Employees may purchase up to 5x salary, from $10,000 to $500,000. Rates are based on employee age and are calculated on a per $1,000 of benefit coverage.
We have partnered with Equinox Fitness Clubs to offer our employees reduced monthly fees for club memberships in most major cities where we have offices.

Employees have 40 hours of paid sick time each year. Those days can be used for personal illness, family illness or healthcare appointments. The 40 hours is renewed each year on the anniversary of the employee’s hire date.
In addition to vacation time, other types of time off include Maternity Leave, Bereavement Leave, Leave of Absence, Jury Duty, Witness Duty and Time Off to Vote. Some of the above absences will be paid and others will be without pay.
Employees are encouraged to continue learning within their profession or career. Accordingly, all full-time employees may be eligible for full or partial reimbursement of tuition costs for courses directly related to their performance or position.
By directly referring a candidate for employment who is subsequently hired, employees are eligible for a referral bonus. After the referred employee completes 90 days of employment, a $1,000 referral bonus will be paid.
Employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan, which allows participants to set aside pre-tax money for retirement through payroll deductions. Participants may defer up to 100 percent of their gross earnings (subject to federally mandated maximum annual deferrals). The Company matches 50 percent of each dollar of employee contributions, up to a maximum match of $1,000 annually.
Employees may participate in the Stanford Federal Credit Union upon commencing employment.
Casual business attire is allowed only on “Casual Days” as announced by Management. This is in effect where more casual clothes are acceptable.
