Venture Associate Program

Venture Associate Program

The Venture Associate Program is an entry point to MMC and our family of companies. The Program is geared towards candidates with leadership potential who have recently completed real estate-focused M.B.A. or master's degree programs and who have at least 3 years of business experience.

Venture Associates have a unique opportunity to rotate throughout our family of companies and explore various functions within the real estate industry (including acquisitions, development, marketing, asset management, and finance). The Program provides an opportunity to work for companies that focus on various sectors (multifamily, single-family, medical office, and equity investments) before committing to a specific position. Venture Associates generally begin with a rotation at the holding company (MMC), followed by rotations in selected companies. Rotation assignments are based on corporate needs as well as, to the extent possible, the Associate’s interests. Typically, each rotation is about 3-4 months in duration.

Placements are based on both mutual fit and interest and occur throughout the rotation cycles. While rotating, an Associate’s responsibilities may include preparing investment packages, conducting due diligence on potential acquisitions or development deals, assessing market opportunities and feasibility for new business ventures and strategies, assisting in project-level financing, and many other challenging assignments. While in the Program, Associates have opportunities to meet and interact with senior management, participate in investment committee meetings, and gain first-hand exposure to our family of companies. We are especially proud that several of our executives are graduates of this Program.

Associates typically start in the Company’s Palo Alto headquarters, and rotations are in both our Silicon Valley and East Bay offices. Southern California placements may also be available.

As mentioned above, candidates must have either an M.B.A. or a master's degree with a real estate focus, and at least 3 years of business experience. Furthermore, prior real estate experience is required, and prior experience from a venture capital firm is ideal. Interested and qualified candidates, please apply through the Career Opportunities section.
